Can’t forget scares?

Write them down –

yes do this

They can fill a booklet

Carry around a way to document

when they appear – wherever you go

Make creating this list an important priority

Do this for a week of re-remembering

and of being re-triggered

Yes. This is what it takes.

And

while all along doing this –

being as well fed and well rested

as well you can make yourself be

Then when

your list is well enough

a good enough list

good enough to give you a wide panoramic view

of the scares that you just can’t forget – causing PSTD

readjust

your

view

of

them

think of them as just safety road signs you’ve read and driven by

Consider them as just warning labels on items

you bought and won’t buy

Place them inside a new photo album labeled

“Remodeled Memories Project”. Name the album whatever you like.

Go over each frightening memory image in the album

and see how well

your well fed and well rested brain

places each piece of them

into completing the final puzzle

Stand back and look at the finished product

Have an “Aha!” Moment

Feel relieved

Feel the remembered threats of death

return

to where they began –

from within your brain

– a naturally unskilled and overprotectively

police and detective brain

that needs more experience and training

in detection and identifying

real from unreal death threats

to solve its Cold Cases

and move on from there

less scattered less on the run

less brain cluttered less fighting

better able to deal with

warning road signs and product warning labels

of the up and coming

future frights

to add to the album

-a collection to look back at

as having lived a rich and full life

despite your well-meaning helicopter parenting brain

hypervigilantly hovering over you

unnecessarily scaring and scarring.
