The pain you feel you can’t get enough of

The honest pain that is felt without love

is the voice of your brain saying

“I know I will die.

This is the best of all truths to be felt

no matter how painful.

So, I will forgo the medication of love –

it has a numbing effect

that is patronizing and disrespectful

towards Death. It prolongs the suffering of delusions

It is a drug that induces the denying of

It is a chemical reaction designed to

Try to

anesthetize the hard won painful truth

of knowing I am

not invincible and I will not live forever.

This I must work through

and this is better done beyond love –

I can feel well of this in that

I am willingly and humbly accepting

that I too am a helpless and vulnerable fragile animal

Then when in embracing this and living this out

love drug free and

meditatively

there is a peacefulness a blissfulness that develops

A steady calm respectfulness that appears

A calming soothing feeling that is better than and

beyond love – think of Buddha

©️ August 2025 Much Love, Deb Poem

This poem is inspired by this 👇🏼 song.
It doesn’t need to be this way.
Aumm it out.

Poems expressing what Enlightenment like this one is attempting to do is understandably going to be hard to describe it. I will keep on trying. ✌🏼💀
