The goodness you don’t understand

fueled the firing of who

could be your best friends,

your champions,

your protectors,

when you need them most.

Just because they

were behind counters,

hidden behind emails, public service announcements,

and envelopes,

the good people in good positions

of the US federal government

you took for granted,

took advantage of and rode hard, like abused horses.
