I saw you squirming in your seat, turning to look out the window, after I asked the class,”What is blocking us from thinking wise?”
We both began watching a lizard on the glass window, running from a snake on the outside window ledge.
I watched you cringe. your eyes blinking fast. your chest heave and sigh.
you turned to look at me. raised your hand wide, and answered,
”Death anxiety!”
